Peter Parker, also known as Spider-man, was sitting in the centre of his living room in the lotus position. He was using the mediation techniques suggested by Dr. Strange and Zatanna to harness the power of the mystical side of his powers. He was breathing in deeply, then exhaling, while focusing on the Web of Life and Destiny. Also known as the Web of Reality, it was this element which linked the universe which powered his spider sense. That or weird superpowers.
'But given my powers could have both science and magical elements at the same time, it could be both. I used my mastery of the science side due to my comfort zone, but I decided to try and master the mystical side.' thought Peter as he tried to link to it. Mediating on it, he emptied his mind, opened his horizons. As his mind emptied, it seemed to enlarge and expand, like he was being removed from his body. From his world. Till he was flowing into the universe, then beyond it.
What he looked at with his point of view was the universe. Past, present and future. Except it was not one, but multiple versions of the past, the present and the future. All potential for reality, weaved into each other like a web. Which is why it must be called the Web of Reality. The web controlled everything, everyone, no matter the power level.
'Which might be why Anansi was known as owner of all stories. He could see the story of existance, maybe even control them. Maybe with time and effort I can control it too.' Peter tried to focus on the strands of the web, being able to focus their weaving and reweaving of the strands. To understand how it was created and could be manipulated. But didn't feel like he was making progress, and given he had other things to do at the moment, released his hold on it. Returning to his body and his world.
'Well, I have something to focus on next time. If I can do it right and have the ability to use it right, I will have a brand new potent power.' thought Peter as he got up. What he didn't notice was the line which linked his mind to the Web of Life and Destiny, which was easy given it was invisible to most forms of detection including magic and psionics. The link allowed his mind to reshape the web, whether consciously. Or unconsciously, or even subconsciously. Which is why Peter continued his day without noticing his power.
