The forces of good and evil have move their pawns to become kings. One per side, even if they will have multiples of the other pieces. A mix of magic and science, whether they know it or not, the villain has the tool in their hands. Once released, nothing could stop it.
The noble will join the villain, remade in their image in some way or form. The Wicked will join the hero, in much the same way. So we just have to ask, who the two king pieces are in this game.
