The self proclaimed "hacktivist," Skye, was visibly frustrated as she was once again left on the plane as the rest of the team worked the field. Coulson has lost most of this trust for her after the incident in Austin, and the SHIELD higher-ups were convinced
that she was a liability after she hacked into the database in The Hub.
After that, she seemed to always be relegated to hanging back on missions and looking up general information about people that usually had no bearing on the mission.
She remained diligent in her work though, hoping to regain Coulson's trust and get a chance to get back out in the field. She was combing Facebook to see if there was any kind of common thread with all of the girls who had disappeared recently. They were
all young, attractive girls that attended the same school, but beyond that, there were no obvious connections. She hacked their cell records and internet browser history and still came up empty. The selection of the victims seemed completely random.
Next, Skye decided to check the local news from the time that the disappearances first started to see if there was any kind of abnormal activity in the area. The only news story that stood out was about a company called The Killgrave Corporation opening
a medical research facility in the area about a week before the first girl was reported missing.
Skye picked up her cell phone to contact one of the agents out in the field, but found that her signal was being jammed somehow. She was able to trace the source to a cell tower near the Killgrave Corp building. Despite her considerable hacking skills,
she was unable to disable the cell signal jammer. Skye decided to investigate for herself. She jumped into the Acura MDX and activated the GPS beacon, hoping that one of her teammates would pick up her signal and follow her to the cell tower.
When Skye arrived at the tower, she grabbed the computer equipment from the back of the SHIELD vehicle and started to set up at the base of the tower. She heard someone approaching her and turned around, expecting to see Ward or Coulson getting ready to
yell at her for going off of her assignment. Instead, she saw a tall man in a purple suit.
"Hello Skye. My name is Zebediah Killgrave. You never should have come here."
Skye started to run back to the vehicle, but suddenly found herself unable to move, then everything went black.
