Melinda May slowly regained consciousness and found that she was strapped to a hospital bed in a small, white room. Standing above her was a tall man in a purple suit.
"Welcome back Agent May. My name is Zebediah Killgrave. I am going to remove your restraints and you are going to lie perfectly still, are we clear?"
"If you remove the restraints, I'm going to snap your neck."
"You misunderstand Melinda, you don't have a choice. I know that you don't believe that psychics exist, however I have the ability to read and manipulate minds. I have been working on you since your friend Agent Fitz sprayed you with the knock-out gas.
You have no choice but to obey my every command. Now, I'm going to repeat, I am going to remove your restraints and you are going to lie perfectly still."
Killgrave unfastened the wrist and ankle cuffs holding Agent May to the hospital bed. She tried to leap off of the bed and attack Killgrave, but she found herself unable to move.
"Sooner or later you're going to slip up, and I'm going to kill you."
"No Melinda, you are going to do exactly what I say, and then you are going to fetch me a lot of money. But first, we are going to do a few alterations. You friend Fitz has been added to my R&D department and they have completed work on a machine that
should be able to physically change your body in any fashion that we choose. Now follow me..."
