((Takes place in a fused Marvel/DC world...))
Sgt. Pepper landed with a thump in the middle of a snowy Central Park. She took a deep breath, mentally apologizing to anyone who was currently married... but with menaces like the Masters of Injustice and the resurgent Black Lanterns, she had to do this.
So that her world could survive, she needed to arrange things so that powerful heroes would be created. Which meant she needed to make sure that the right heroes and villains were bred together. She triggered her stealth tech, which would hide her from even the strongest of supersenses without leaving a blank spot, protect her from being noticed by magic in any way,shape, or form, and completely hide her from danger senses, DNA scanners, psionics, and chi detectors.
Once certain she was safe from detection, she stood up and pulled out her scanning device, looking for heroes.
“Wait, what?” she said after a moment. “Why are they all in one place?”
She tracked down the genetic signatures, finding almost the entire rosters of the X-Men, Avengers,Justice League, and Teen Titans, including members past and present,all sitting down and playing a card game together.
Sgt. Pepper was unaware of this, butthis was a yearly thing they did, to promote commeradere and trust amongst the superhero community (barring fights over cheating). When the two universes had been permanently fused together by Anti-Monitor and Dormammu (resulting in confusion when people began fusing with their counterparts on other worlds, as they tried to adjust to merged memories), the heroes had decided that collaboration was best. The Justice League was more than willing to participate in the card game,as it gave them a chance to relax from their superheroing careers.
Sgt. Pepper grinned, shaking her head. “A card game party...” she said softly. “I've heard of these...” She let herself in, discreetly slipping around and absconding with some of the snacks. After indulging herself,savoring food she normally wouldn't get due to the circumstances of her world, she pulled out her scanner again, looking for potentially good matches to create powerful children.
Her mentor, Nathaniel Essex, who freely admitted that he used to be the supervillain Mr. Sinister before his reformation, had provided her with the genetics scanner. It could match any two together with a glance, citing all the possibilities of their powers.
As a test run, she scanned Reed and Susan Richards, who were playing cards with Nightwing and Starfire.
“Okay... Subjects Reed and Sue Richards... Potential offspring abilities include... reality warping, Omega-level telepathy, gravity manipulation, level twelve intellects...” Sgt. Pepper chuckled. “Well, hopefully I can keep at least those two as a couple. Meantime, let's scan the others...”
