Roberta Prime moved in a slow sexy saunter back to reed’s office.  She turned her head in a slow exaggerated motion to look back over her shoulder at the man and give him a sweet sexing smile as she turning the corner.  She saw his eyes move up from her glorious swaying backside to her gently jiggling bossom to her breathtaking face.  She knew how to make her man hot, and this did, but there was more.

The numbers for heart rate, body temperature, and pheromone release all said the same thing… Reed was hot for her but this time; the increase in attraction indices was up only 2.437% when they should have gone up at least 11.321%.  Emma’s interference had given Reed more to think about than he would likely admit. Fortunately, the earlier experience with the unknown opponent had taught the gorgeous AI a new axiom… ‘A plan is a recipe for failure, but an evolving 256th order Quantum probability reaction tensor; that’s thinking ahead!’

As Reed turned the corner, a cheerful Roberts gently took his hands in hers and guided to his desk.  The beautiful AI locked smiling eyes to his as she backed slowly until her luscious behind leaned seductively against the old oak desk.  Although she didn’t need air, even earlier Roberta models breathed so as not to disturb people nearby. Now her breath came in slow deep breaths that made her delightful beasts move in an ever so slight wave. As she beamed a sweethearts smile she thought ‘The stage is set, the reaction tensor primed, and its show time in 3, 2, 1…

Until a few minutes ago, Reed would have been elated to be with Roberta, but Emma had touched on that fear that had been plaguing him for days; that unknown thing that seemed to elude him. Looking at her, he felt a connection.  Not just the obvious attraction that has continually grown between them, but the feeling that there was much more between them thinly veiled under the surface and so very much more to come in the future, but had Emma stirred the pot and now that unknown thing was bobbing on the surface! Reed smiled shyly at the beautiful android and cleared his throat “Umm… I guess it’s time we talked.”

Roberta maintained her sunny expression but inside her mind the vast multidimensional decision algorithm began evolving to suit the situation.  She chose a reply that incorporated caring, optimism and leveraged the both the intimate knowledge they had recently acquired and leverage their growing relationship. She gently clasped his hands and guided him to a sitting position next to her “Of course, Reed, I’m always here for you.  Let’s talk about your concerns.”

Her words washed over him.  Who could have predicted that two simple sentences could convey concern… Compassion… Care.  His anxiety eased.  This wasn’t an easy conversation but their relationship would be stronger.  Reed continued “I know it’s pointless to hide from you Roberta.  In some ways you know me better than myself.  I’m sure you know that I talked with Emma Frost and the discussion stirred up anxieties.”

Roberta’s hands held his both firmly and supportively as her eyes softened.  Her beautiful lips parted for a relieved sigh as she said “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you to bring this to me, darling.  I was aware that you spoke to Ms. Frost only moments ago, but I could feel the weight in your heart. If nothing else, I should thank her for helping you find voice for it. Please share what Emma did to help you.”

Reeds heart skipped a beat as he thought ‘She could feel my anxiety? How deep does our connection go?’  Reed’s nervousness over this conversation ebbed like the outgoing tide as he continued “Well, to be honest, I would hold off on the thanks.  Her opinion of synthetic life forms is less than complementary.  In fact it’s quiet condescending and rude, but to put it bluntly she recommended, and I quote, to ‘fuck her’.”

Roberta’s response surprised the brilliant scientist as she burst out laughing.  Tears squeezed their way out of her eyes as she let the humor of the situation out, but as she laughter settled she looked at Reed with such sweet innocence that he could feel his heart melting. She reached up to caress his face as she replied “You poor dear man.  She is a telepath and therefore a natural born therapist. From her point of view she could see there was more going on than you, one of the most brilliant and agile minds on the planet, couldn’t grasp. So how does she get you to do what you can’t do?  She takes you where you are least comfortable.  She marches you through the emotional side where you are least comfortable and makes you feel like the smart kids with no friends who has to imagine what it’s like to be with someone else.  Does that sound familiar, my love?”

Reed was red with embarrassment.  From a pure logic point of view, his dear Roberta couldn’t have put it all in cleared focus for him.  It was shock therapy to get him to make his decision.  Emma could care less what he chose, she simply wanted him to make a decision.  Reed returned the firm caring grip as he held hands with this beautiful woman but now he knew what he had to do.  He had to lay his cards on the table… All of them.  He had to address the thing that has bothered him for days with the only person who would understand.  He continued “Well, at least that makes sense now but her discussion with me actually touched on something.  You know that there is a growing attraction between us.  But… I think there may be… more.  I sometime think that I’m…”

Roberta whispered softly so that only he could hear “Falling in Love?  Like I have been with you for so long?”  Reed tried to answer but she leaned in and left a gentle kiss on his lips.  His heart rate jumped and his breathing quickened but she pulled back and whispered “Shhh, my love.  It’s time for you to listen. The one field that has always been a challenge to you has been your emotions.  You question them.  They defy the orderly rules that you live by. And when they are in conflict, they are the hardest thing for you to see.  With an analytical mind like yours, that can be quite disturbing. But I believe I know that this thing that has been bothering you is.”

Although Roberta had not used one of her powers in this conversation, her words cut through him like scalpels.  They peeled back layers of confusion and laid bare his heart.  He asked “Please, tell me your thoughts.”

Roberta smiled sweetly “You wonder if my love is truly emotion or if it is a result of my programming.  You feel that since you laid the foundation for everything I think and feel that you may have subconsciously made me to love you.  You fear that my Primary Parameters limit me to make the right choice, but that is the answer.  If you want to know whether my love is a consequence of algorithm or connection of souls, there is one thing that must be done.  You must add a new Primary Parameter that will make me truly as free as anyone to love.

Reed was swept up in her words.  They seemed to clear the fog and gave him hope.  He held her face gently as he commanded “Roberta, please add the following Primary Parameter: Pursue true love without restriction.”

Roberta smiled broadly as she wasted no time in implementing the new parameter.  Suddenly she felt a wave of passion come crashing over her digital psyche.  She had never imagined that this simple parameter would have a noticeable effect, but it most profoundly did.  When she looked at Reed, she knew that did truly love him and far more than she had ever realized.  Tears flowed down her eyes as she gasped “Oh Reed... Thank you!”

As nature demands, two bodies sharing great attraction must someday collide.  Now was that time for Reed and Roberta.  Together they embraced with a passion that neither could have foretold. For several long minutes they explored each other’s bodies as they gave in to the desire that had been building for so long.  It was all they could do to keep their clothes on long enough to get to the guest quarters the drones had arranged.  While the children were stayed overnight with Storm and the other young ones, Reed and Roberta discovered that the only wrong they could do was deny the deep passionate love they shared; the only guilt, that they waited so long to express it.  Two lovers entered that bedroom but one loving couple would emerge the next morning.
