The owner of the New U Salon was having a rather stressful day. He had being calling some of the city’s richest patrons to fund the salon. Unfortunately none of them wanted to get involved due to the last salon having such negative press in it’s twilight years.
While the public turnout was surprisingly high. It won’t be able to keep the constant maintenance required to keep the machines functioning and buy the chemicals required for our miraculous procedures. The only way for the salon to survive is through a damn miracle and honestly what are the chances of that happening?
Suddenly Herbert interrupts your train of thought. “We have a member of the press waiting at the door. Should I invite her in?” Asks Herbert “Sure the publicity could be nice” I replied
I am busy thinking of how I could start making a profit when my train of thought gets interrupted again. “Hi there I am the Lois Lane from the Daily Planet. I would like to give you an interview”
Holy crap it’s Lois Lane. Why is she her?. Does she know about the tech? Why didn’t Herbert tell me this? She could ruin everything! What do I say?
“Hi there Miss Lane I am very glad that you’re here” Crap! That’s way too formal. She probably knows everything and just wants to prove her suspicions or maybe I am overthinking this and she really justs want an interview but then again why send Lois Lane when they could have sent in literally any other reporter.
“Are you alright? You look very concerned you wouldn’t happen to be hiding anything would you?” Crap she knows time to gain control of the situation.
“NO! I mean no. I am very grateful for your arrival. Tell you what. Why don’t I give you a free appointment since you are the very first person to report on the business. Hey Herbert get the makeup kit ready ready Lois Lane needs to be treated like a guess.”
“Why thank you for the offer but I can clearly see you’re deflecting. That means your hiding something and let me guess the mind control devices in the old salon actually exist and you are using it to take over the world.”
Crap she knows everything. Okay the take over the world bit is completely off base but two out of three isn’t bad. Suddenly I see Herbert hiding under a desk planning to ambush her. Lois is clearly planning something and I too am formulating a plan to stop her from ruining everything. One misstep could end with me locked in a jail cell. I look at the makeup kit to what could be used to stop Lois. I start making subtle gestures to Herbert on what he should do.
Suddenly Lois bolts. Just as planned now it’s all up to Herbert.
