Susan was walking down a path that was lined by very large, multi-colored mushrooms and plants.  Looking down, she saw that she was following a white rabbit hopping briskly in front of her. The cute little thing, who wore a red dinner jacket, a gold shirt and a purple bowtie, was grumbling to himself about how late he was.  Susan’s brow furrowed for a second and wondered what he was late for? Still looking around at her surroundings, she wondered if she was very small or if the mushrooms and other plant life was very tall?

“Curiouser and curiouser,” Susan whispered to herself, although this all seemed so familiar to her.  She just couldn’t place it.

Looking back, she saw that the White Rabbit had hopped a few paces ahead of her.  She looked down at herself and saw that she was wearing her normal blue Fantastic Four suit, with the 4-emblem on the chest, along with black, functional boots and gloves.  Susan, wanting to catch up with the White Rabbit, started to run after him. Maybe he could shed some light on what was going on.

“Oh, Mr. Rabbit?” Susan called out, and he stopped for a moment and turned around.

“No time to talk, I’m afraid,” the White Rabbit spoke in a posh British accent, “I’m so very late.”

With that, he turned and continued his hopping down the path.  Susan called after him again and again, but to her dismay, he ignored her.  She started to jog after the White Rabbit, but when she followed him around the corner on the path she found herself momentarily her vision obscured by a thick plume of smoke.  Not only that, but she had also inhaled a lung-full of it as well.

Coughing and rubbing her eyes, she looked back and saw that the White Rabbit had disappeared.  To make matters worse the Invisible Woman found that she somehow strayed from the path. Looking around, she saw that she was in a clearing.  She was still surrounded by the large multi-colored mushrooms, but there were smaller ones that had formed here and there inside the clearing.  Susan was growing more and more worried that she would never get out of this maze she had found herself in and she stomped her foot in anger.

“Who…are...you?” came an annoyed voice from behind her.  Every word had been drawn out and emphasized, and with each word came more and more smoke that surrounded her.  Susan turned around and her lithe form was once more consumed by the smoke for a few seconds.

When the smoke finally cleared, Susan saw to her surprise, that at the center of the clearing was a large blue caterpillar sitting on top of a large pink mushroom smoking out of a hookah.  He was looking at her in disapproving fashion, but his snobbish face never looked away. He seemed to be studying her. Susan was frozen in place for a while, looking at the funny-looking creature, who took a long pull off the hookah’s hose.  He then spoke once more.

“Who…are...you?” the Caterpillar repeated, exhaling once more.  He again drew out and emphasized every single word. He sounded more annoyed from before, if that was even possible.

“Oh, I’m sorry.  How rude of me,” Susan said, snapping out of her sense of wonder at the strange creature before her, “My name is Susan Storm-Richards.”

“Who?” the Caterpillar asked, as more and more smoke seemed to wind its way around her body like a vaporous snake.

“I’m absolutely certain,” Susan said, “I’m Susan Storm-Richards, also known as the Invisible Woman.  I’m co-leader of the Fantastic Four, the greatest superhero team on the planet. I’m also the C.E.O. of Fantastic Four, Inc.  I’m the wife of Reed Richards and sister to Johnny Storm.”

“Are you sure?” the Caterpillar asked, cocking its eyebrow.

“Well, of course I’m sure,” Susan stated firmly and narrowed her eyes in confusion.  Why was he questioning who she was?

“We shall see,” the Caterpillar murmured around the hookah hose.  He sucked in a lungful and inhaled it, before he breathed back out the largest plume of vapor yet.  It soon consumed Susan whole and she waved her hand frantically in front of her face, hoping to clear the smoke as fast as possible so she could ask the caterpillar how to leave this place.  Wherever this was...

However, when the smoke cleared, she found she was somehow else entirely.
