(Author's Note: The inspiration for this storyline came from a story by Barnabus called Wonder Woman Becomes Influenced by Man's World, although the first time I came across the concept of the Passion Fever Dust was in a Ranma 1/2 lemon fanfic series titled Lemonade Punch and written by Paladin. For this adventure, I have slightly modified the properties of the Dust.)There are very few alchemical compounds more powerful than the legendary "Passion Fever Dust". Its supernatural nature allows it to affect even Gods, like the Olympians, and other god-like beings, such as Kryptonians, who are immune to practically everything else.
Legend says it was created by a powerful sorcerer of demonic descent who used it as a tool to coerce unwilling women into joining his harem. He was said to be particularly ugly and extremely fond of strong and powerful women, making it very difficult to either force them through the use of brute strength or seduce them with dinner and candles.
The Passion Fever Dust can either be used in it's powdered form or diluted in a liquid. Inhaled or ingested. Ingestion however can retard the effects of the compound by as much as several hours depending on the person and their species.
In it's powdered form, it has a golden color and sparkles under lighting, but it is transparent once diluted in water or alcohol. Most oils however turn a very dark brown.
The Passion Fever Dust has several effects that affect both men and women. The first noticeable effect is an increasing sexual arousal. After being exposed to the compound, a person will feel more and more horny until the end of a 24 hour deadline. At the end of this time limit, the second main - and most gruesome - effect manifests itself: a very painful death.
The only known cure: unprotected sexual intercourse with a person of the opposite gender. In other words, the victim must choose between fits of agony or the throes of passion. Till this day, no alchemist, sorcerer, magician or scientist who has worked on the compound has ever been able to find an alternative cure. The general belief is that something in the blending of male and female sexual secretions causes the Passion Fever Dust to neutralize.
It is important to remember that both partners have to achieve orgasm in order to "produce" the cure. The nature of this particular cure explains why the most daring of couples who have access to the Passion Fever Dust use it as a powerful aphrodisiac.
Another important detail is that a victim infected by the Passion Fever Dust becomes contagious through the exchange of bodily fluids. Examples include sperm and saliva. Although the transmission of "the Passion Fever" during sexual intercourse is kind of redundant since the infected partner will be cured at the same time as the first victim, a simple mouth to mouth kiss can also be the cause of a death sentence. A few rare cases are known, where a victim has transmitted the Passion Fever through their sweat.
There are also a few known side-effects that manifest themselves with different probabilities. One of the most common among women is an increased chance of pregnancy. Men also can also experience a higher fertility rate through a bigger production of sperm. People with cardiovascular issues have been known to die before the 24 hour deadline from a stroke or a heart attack. Headaches and nausea are also fairly common, as well as hypersensitivity to touch, sound or light. Some very rare cases are known where the victim's sexual arousal has put them in a trance-like state, making them susceptible to direct orders.
Despite all this, the Passion Fever Dust has never had any effects on a person's personality or inclinations. There are many stories about faithful husbands and wives who have chosen death instead of betraying their significant other. The compound has also been used often as a means to force lesbian women into having sex with men. The Passion Fever Dust has never affected their feelings.
