Once upon a time Medusa ruled a different part of the world as Inhuman royalty, however an unfortunate illness brought about a change no one expected and set her on her current course.  Her hair started to fall out.  Thankfully she was eventually cured of her illness but not before her hair had fallen out completely.  Many medical experts from around the world but none could find a way to bring her crowning glory back.  Without it, she felt useless and most Inhumans felt she was too.  She was unknowingly cast aside an forgotten about to the point that nobody even realised she left New Attilan.  That is except for one person.

Maximus had watched how all of this went down and wanted to help his former Queen...in her own way.  He found her in back alley scavenging for food.  With a few of his "suggestions" Maximus was able to set the bald former queen on a new path - she was going to make the Inhumans pay for forsaking her.  She would need an army though.  Luckily for her the latest gang war for New York was happening and while she no longer had her prehensile hair, she still knew how to fight and lead.  She took the opportunity and slowly built up her base until she was her in the penthouse, looking out at her former home as the Queenpin and planning the next step of her revenge.
