Batgirl shook her head at the weird feeling.
“Say that again Nightwing?” she called over the comlink.
“Why is an insurance company keeping a quarter ton of cocaine in their office’s safe room?” Nightwing re-asked his question.
“Can you confirm it is cocaine?” Batgirl asked.
“Sparky here just did with his nose,” Nightwing responded, “What do you say? Was it cocaine? That good? He said almost completely pure.”
“Right. Catalogue it,” Batgirl said, “Perhaps the bigger question is why are these goons targeting it?”
“Dang,” Hellcat said.
“What would you think about going out with Nightwing and me?” Batgirl asked Hellcat.
“Sure,” She smiled, “If you are a nice person. And if you are the right kind of naughty and or bossy, that makes it so much better.”
Batgirl shook her head and then looked back at the screen. She frowned.
“Nightwing, time to scram,” Batgirl called, “SWAT is making an entry!”
“Will they be ok?” Hellcat asked.
“They?” Batgirl asked, “We should be concerned about them dropping the building with us in it!”Nightwing kicked in a fire escape door as Batgirl finished packing up her tools.
“Let’s go,” Nightwing said, “They brought the EOD* bots and installed the full Skynet package!”
Batgirl, Nightwing and Hellcat scrambled for the roof and to make their way to roof across the street from the office building. A series of explosions rocked the building that they had been in.
“Ahh,” Hellcat looked back at the building, “What’s going on?”
“The captain of the SWAT Team was one of Branden’s young bucks,” Nightwing snickered, “After Branden got busted he stayed around Gotham for a while. After Gordon became Commissioner in Gotham, he purged the last of Branden’s folks. And Mr. Happy down there came to Bluddhaven and took over the SWAT team.”
“He is about three riots away from getting charged with police brutality,” Batgirl rolled her eyes then spoke again after another explosion, “Make that two more riots.”
“Well I suppose it is time for me to take a cat nap,” Hellcat said, “Will I be seeing you tonight out on the town? Will I be see both of you tonight?”
“No,” Batgirl, “I need to get back to Gotham myself. Let’s go Boy Wonder.”
“I’ll see you when I see you,” Nightwing called, “Let’s go Batgirl, we need you to get you home.”
The two of them made their way down to the hidden motorcycle. Mounting the motorcycle Nightwing noticed Batgirl taking a different grip on him. He noticed her hands wonder down to his little hotwing. She started to squeeze tighter to him.
“How about we take a batnap when we get back to your place?” Barbara whispered in his ear.
* Explosive Ordnance Disposal
