Gotham City

“Stay calm people,” Two-face ordered his goons, “On my mark shred them!”

The order was cut short in a hail of fire, cutting down a few of his goons.  Mike Wren ducted down after getting brains from one of the goons splattered all over his face.

“I thought you just said that bats don’t kill!” Wren shouted.

“He doesn’t,” Two-Face shouted, “this must be the Red Hood.  Word is Hood use be Robin number 2, then Joker tried to kill him and he went homicidal himself.”

A couple of his goons popped up and shot off a few rounds before ducting back down.  One or two of them took rounds in the chest and from the blood splatters, the rounds went throw their body armor.

A crash came from upstairs.

“Sounds like there is a monster in the attic!” Jackie, one of Two-Face’s goons shouted.

“Take your twin and go deal with choir boy!” Two-Face shouted.

The fraternal twins rushed off to the stairs.

The Watchtower

Zatanna went to help Doctor Fate while Diana went to check on the Super family.  Doctor Fate had just finished the spells to seal Grundy in a block of mystic energy.

“I came as soon as I could,” Zatanna greeted Doctor Fate.

“I was told you were working with Batman on the arcane aspects of Ra’s Al Ghual’s operations,” Doctor Fate intoned, “tread carefully, Ghoul went to some very dark places for his knowledge of the arcane arts.”

“He did indeed,” Zatanna agreed, “Bruce has helped stabilize me during the investigation.”

Doctor Fate looked at Zatanna, then looked into Zatanna.

“You are very much linked to him…”

“I offered my services to him,” Zatanna smiled, “he took me in as a lover.”

“That will ground you in the mortal world,” Doctor Fate conceded.

“Keep this between us,” Zatanna whispered.

Meanwhile Diana walked around the medical bay looking at the wounded heroes.  Doctors had been brought up after screening to keep any more sub-conscious minions of Ghoul from trying to blow up the station.

“Are you in charge?” Diana asked one of the older doctors.

“Sort-of, what do you need?” the man responded.

“Just a quick break down,” Diana smiled.

“They will all live, and no one here will lose a limb.  In fact,” The man pointed at Beast Boy, “The green kid can go home.  As long as he doesn’t stretch the teagderm the wound should heal fine.”

“The what?” Diana was confused.

“Fake skin,” Beast Boy moaned, “It means I have to stay in Boy mode.”

Diana walked over to look at the large patch of silvery cloth on his arm.  For no reason she gave him a hug, it seemed like the right thing to do.  Turning she went to the Super family.

“How are you feeling?” Diana asked the group in general.

“Better than the Bizzaros,” Superboy shrugged, “the girl is still in the pavement, and Jersey City PD pulled Bizzaro out of the apartment building in a body bag.”

Diana noticed Supergirl siting in a corner by herself.  Good, isolated, easy.

“How are you feeling?” Diana rubbed Kara’s shoulder.

“I’m a dead girl walking,” Kara didn’t look up.

“You were surprised,” Diana tried to reassure her, “It won’t happen again.”

“The first time I had to fight someone on equal footing, and…” Kara’s eyes were filled with fear, “I learned I was helpless.  Now I really am helpless.”

“I need to make the rounds here, then I will be heading back to Gotham to coordinate Batman’s data with the Amazons,” Diana smiled, “You should join me, I could give you sparing lessons.”

Ivy Town

Jason Blood opened the door.

“I have been expecting you, please come in and help yourself.”

There was a spread of cheese and fruit on the front room coffee table.

“You know why I’m here?” Zatanna asked.

“You are a messagener.  I am showing you a Host’s courtesy.  Have something to eat before you deliver your message.”

Zatanna grabbed some cheese and crackers before pulling out the letter.  Jason took it, opened it,  read the two lines then folded it back up and put it back in the envolpe.

“Why do I feel I am about to be kicked in the chest…” Zatanna froze in fear.

“This is Ivy Town, not Sparta,” Jason Smiled, “Tell Bruce this.”

Jason went to packed bag next to the coffee table and pulled out a silver plate, it had the name Savage engraved on it.

“I do know what is happening,” Jason said, “For my side, well, I am on my way to deal with the problem.”

Gotham

Mike Wren was panicing; the building was on fire, there were corpses everywhere, Two-Face was hit, and there were sirens in the distance.

“Looky looky,” the biker themed vigilante said grabbing Wren and hauling him to his feet, “This one was hiding.”

“His clothing is not biforcated,” the armored vigilante noted, “He is not one of Two-Face’s goons.”

“Wait a second,” the biker themed one stared at his face, “Broken nose, and black eye in one punch… You had a go with the new Robin didn’t you?  I think we need to have a recap on that conversation.”

“Two-Face lives.”

“Finish him?” the biker asked.

“No, he doesn’t warrant a honorable death,” the armored viglante shrugged, “If the blow didn’t kill him outright, let him suffer.  The police will want him.”

Central Bank, Gotham

The crew here were Hearts; King, Queen, Jack, Ten and an Ace.  They never knew what hit them.  The first hit was the EMP grenades, the cards crashed to the ground and Ace fell to the ground.  The next hits were Ten taking a flying knee to the side of the head by Batgirl, Jack taking a drop kick to the head from Red Robin, and Queen dropped like a sandbag with Black Bat standing behind her.

“Stay back!” King shouted, “Stay back!”

“Too late,” Red Robin smiled.

“What?” King looked around and didn’t see Batgirl, “Where is the blonde?”

“Here,” Batgirl said as she pinched the never cluster in Kings neck, “Nap time.”

“Did we take out the Royal Flush gang in under five minutes?” Red Robin was stunned, “That has to be a record!”

Riddler was looking around; it seemed that Batman was nowhere to be found.  He had to stop that.  After three months of having the Mad Hatter as a roommate in Arkham he found himself internally narrating what he did, and make the narration rime.  His goons were set up with a stolen fifty cal machine gun trained on the skylight.  As soon as a Bat broke throw the gun would open up and kill them.

“What are you waiting for?” a woman asked.

“The Bats,” Riddler didn’t take his eyes off the skylight, “They should have been here by now…”

“Eddie, Mind if I call you Eddie,” the woman intoned, “Bats is busy with the pasty face.  So it’s me and Nightwing that are going to give you a broken nose tonight.”

Riddler spun around and aimed his cane at the woman, it was the Raven.  The grape vine had said she was spending a lot of time with Bat Junior these days.

“But it’s her that wants to kill you,” Raven gave a creepy smile, “And I don’t feel like getting in the way.”

The woman vanished in a dark cloud, as a bolt stabbed Nigma in the shoulder.  On the other side had been Huntress.  The bird shaped form of darkness reappeared and out of it Nightwing connected a right hook to Nigma’s face.  Blood gushed from his shoulder and nose as he crashed to the ground.

Gotham Stadium

“Catwoman? Robin?” Batman called from the muffle of the gas mask.

“I’m here,” Catwoman shouted.

She was wearing a gas mask like his, only custom fitted for her face.  She was trying to help some of the victims by spraying clean O2 from wall mounted Heart Attack Kit.

“Where’s Robin?” Batman shouted.

“Here, he he he he he…” the sick laughter came from above.

Batman looked up to see the Joker holding Robin by the neck with the muzzle of a hand cannon in his ear.  They were almost in rafters, the gas was getting thick around them.

“Father,” Robin tried to speak while holding his breath, “The clown jumped me and grabbed my mask.”
“Let him go,” Batman demanded.

“So bats, ready to lose another son?” Joker started chackling.

“Let me keep your hands clean father,” Damien spoke to Batman’s alter ego.

“What’s that suppose to mean?” Joker asked.

“This,” Damien held up the grenade pin as he started giggling.

The blast breached the roof, but didn’t break the rafters, Batman rushed to cover Catwoman and the kids she was treating from the shrapnel.  Oh, God…
