Johanna looked around from under the ice pack on the
couch of the security ministry office. Nina
Price was stomping around behind her, Sin was seated next to the head of one of
the counter terror teams and spread around the room were the officials from
other ministries.
“Well Captain,” one from foreign affairs ministry spoke
up, “Expect for Doom to want thank you for stopping the missiles aimed at his
aircraft.”
“Captain Germany will be recovering from her wounds for
as long as Doom is in Germany,” Sin said looking at her mother, “You do have a
habit of getting shot in the with missiles don’t you?”
“What?” Nina asked in English.
“She doesn’t speak German,” Sin sighed before continuing
in English, “I was informing The Captain that she could expect a thank you from
Doom for saving his plan.”
“Oh that?” Nina remembered the events from a few hours
earlier…
*
Nina figured out that the Hydra goons were the junior
soccer hooligans and most likely were a distraction, and as soon as she said
something… the Local German superwoman was off like a shot. A true woman of Action! Schmidt had run up to one of the highest points
in the airport and then jumped over to the parking structure across the street from
her. Nina didn’t follow her across the
gap but watched as the blonde woman beat the hydra goons into submission. It
was much like watching Neo fighting the agents in the Matrix movie… but Neo was
a sexy blonde agent. Nina gasped as the last Hydra Agent tried to fire off the
missile right into the woman’s face. It
slammed into Schmidt’s face and then flew spiraling off before nose diving into
the ground.
There were shouts in German. And some of the German police units came
over. One of them with a rifle looked
down and spotted one of the Hydra Agents getting up and grabbing a pistol. The shot fell the Hydra Agent before they
could aim their gun at the Schmidt.

“I am still not convinced that they were just there for
Doom,” one of the Counter Terrorism team leaders said with a slightly Danish accent.
“One of the world’s richest men and possibly the
wealthiest German in the world shows up on the same day at the same airport as
Doom?” another government minister said.
“It is weird that Mr. Sombra showed up this morning…” the
Counter Terror Team leader sulked.
“Was it coincidence or planned?” Sin asked to herself.
“Zufall? For-her-sehbar?” Nina asked picking out key
words from the German.
“Predicted,” a minister from the Arts and Culture
department said with a Westfalish accent.
“Ghee-Plant?” Nina questioned the response.
“Sombra’s contacts requested a number of art deals be
approved on short order and then left them for days,” the Westphalian Arts
Minister said, “But then last night the collected all of the paper work. If someone was concerned about Mr. Sombra’s
deals that would have been the warning. However,
none of us knew where he would meet with his art dealers so it remains more a
chance encounter…”
“Agent Price,” Sin said in English, “We are talking about
the coincidence of Mr Jason Sombra being at the airport at the same time as
Doom was expected to arrive. The Arts
Minister here was explaining how Hydra might have known if he was coming.”
Nina stopped to think.
“Please continue now that the American has been silenced
for the moment,” Sin turned back to the Arts minister in German.
“What is more concerning is that he seems to be looking
for something specific…” the Minister said, “He started in Denmark, then
Norway, Finland, Iceland, and most recently the UK. He has gone throw every collection and
gallery private, public or closed and is still looking for something…”
“What do the English call such a man?” a member of the Foreign
ministry asked before saying in English, “An Eccentric?”
“I personally singed requests to for him to go into
archives of the Old Kaiser’s Estate,” the Arts Minister struggled to keep his
temper and his accent in check. Maybe
you should have Captain Germany meet with him Director Schmidt. There is something off about him.”
“Captain,” Sin said towards her mother, “Would you look
into the gentleman’s affairs? The Arts
Ministry is concerned.”
“Not as closely as you looking into the missile,” one of
the Counter Terrorism people chuckled.
“Very funny,” Johanna said from under her ice pack, “Maybe
we should bandage your face and have you be the agent that saved Doom.”

“Captain,” Nina asked after closing the door to Johanna’s
apartment.
“What Agent Price,” Johanna asked.
“Please just call me Nina,” the American said.
“The call me Johanna,” her host responded.
“What do you know about this Jason Sombra?” Nina asked.
